Summer Recreation

The Rec Center is located across from the City Park right off Washington Avenue.  It is the building between the playground equipment and tennis courts.  Our 2009 season runs June 8 through August 14.  Supervised hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  You can reach staff at 846-7113.  All activities are free and require no pre-registration.

Interested in Working at the Rec?
The City of Detroit Lakes will be accepting applications starting the first day of March each year for summer rec positions.  Applications need to be returned to Community Education and Recreation, Lincoln Education Center, 204 East Willow Street, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota 56501, by April 1 each year.  Individuals need to re-apply each year for this position.  For more information, call (218) 847-4418.
